I feel that we have a big part. There are those who subscribe to a kind of a "pawn" theory that has us as little pieces in the hands of this all-encompassing God, but I believe we're more than that. I fel that to describe us as being createed "in God's image" is to suggest that there is a more of a "giving birth" type relationship involved. God gives birth to the process that creates us, and we give birth to the seed of God in us (and I do believe that this "seed" is in all of us).

Unfortunate that this was the case. Many people seem to feel more secure approaching faith as a set of rules. It makes it easier to whip people in to line I suppose. Lots of societies have done this by forwarding a theology which suits whoever is in power.

I would love to be able to post this question and my response to my site, as I truly hope for this site to become more interactive. I will not do so, or only do so anonymously, or not at all if you wish. I thought the question to be quite appropriate in the context of my discussion. What do you think?

Either way, thank you for writing, and continue to question. There's a whole lot that those of us who grew up under conservative religion need to get out from under and begin to see the deeper intricacies of the journey of faith.
