Mindful of Christ's call "to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives and to the blind new sight, to set the downtrodden free, to proclaim the Lord's year of favor" (Luke 4:18-19), the CHRIST HOUSE CHURCH is called to become a community of faith, Catholics and Protestants, to create structures of healing and hope in the midst of the poor. We corm as we are to be healed by each other's presence. Focused primarily around the needs of the homeless who stay for brief periods in Christ House, the faith community, wounded in its own way, seeks to become the Body of Christ in solidarity with the poor and the oppressed by proclamation of the Word and action.
- The mission group is called to carry the message of a new way of life to Christ House patients (and former patients) who are now in recovery. Using the Exodus story as a =del, the mission group is concerned with both the corporal and spiritual works of niercy. The 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous are used in both our inward and outward journey.

- in response to John 6:35, "Jesus said: 11 myself am the bread of life. No one who comes to nie shall ever be hungry, no one who believes in nie shall ever thirst,"' this group provides a framework for spiritual growth and renewal. We gather weekly around scripture and prayer to recognize and share God's activity in our lives. Basic spiritual needs are addressed, guided and nurtured. Each person is encouraged by the faith of others. We seek to be mediators between God and our brothers and sisters.
