Goals: personal and ministry goals for you and your context. Goals and
objectives are important for both 1) your personal growth and 2) your
ministry model.
By the end of this project, I hope I will have accomplished several things
with the Web Site.
- It will include a conferencing system which is available full time
and on a direct Internet connection.
- It will provide a center for theological education offering links
to theological education resources as well as confernce/forums for the
exploration of new formats for doing theological education.
- It will include a survey of the present expressions of theologically
related groups on the Internet
I also hope to have a working knowledge of Java, VRML, and Web-Graphics.
I also hope I can be involved with developing a Web front-end to Ecunet,
in order to help them get a clearer presence and sense of involvement
in the larger Computer Mediated Communications arena.
These goals will contribute to the meeting of goals I have set for context
of my ministry. The Web site will be a resource for :
the "coming online" of major resources and personnel for theological
education.
The building of the kind of "third place" or Great Good Place
that is needed for the church to have a place in the "communal spaces"
in our society.
A Place /Resource to explore the impact of hypertext on hermeneutics,
and on the experience of learning in this environment.
Summary of learning needed both by you and by others within the context
of ministry.
Needed by me:
- Image maps and graphics
- Multimedia (Java, VRML)
- More "Biblical themes" with lessons for CMC
- Online education strategies
- Keep on keepin' up with literature
Needed by my context:
Ecumenical awareness deepened
To recognize the biases of print culture which deter us from really "doing"
the web
To lift up models/examples of community-enhancing CMC
That the internet is a microcosm of the World; that there is evil as
well as good, things which do not interest us and things which do.
A resource review summarizing the work others have done in similar areas
of ministry, demonstrating that you are familiar with and have learned
from the resources in the area of your focus. This helps you to analyze
applications for your context of ministry, discerning where gaps are and
therefore where opportunities exist.
