My tradition and Technology

What role does the Bible play in my interest in appropriating

technology for ministry?

There is so much to say here, and so little (relative) space (in terms of the average lengths of these papers----since I have been so late in finishing, I have the advantage of knowing what others have already done). My senior Religious Communications presentation was entitled "Swords into Plowshares: The Taming of Technology" (Perhaps some of you would like to see the video of this 15 minute presentation when we meet in January). In it I outline how technology can be used to enhance education and community, in contrast to the media hype we all saw in early 1991 about how our technology "won a war" for us (in the Gulf). I ended the presentation

with a video of the same two fighter jets that opened the presentation,

flying off and the smoke from the jets exhaust dissolving onscreen to an orange background revealing the text: &quot; So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God.&quot; <BR> Just as I have no doubt that technology will be misused by some, just as some have misused any media or technology, I also have expectant faith that there will be breakthroughs of great impact on the shape of human community because of the massive focus on computer communications today.
