Which is more "real"? Face to face, "personal" communication, or "Virtual" Communication. There is some question here. It depends on the truth of what is communicated. We are very capable of presenting a falsehood in face to face mode. In fact, it is common for us to do so for "distancing". We may be shy, or we may be intentionally holding back. Sometimes, the face to face inhibits communication.

In the same way, online communication can more clearly represent thought and meaning, especially for the ones who can express themselves well in writing but find in-person conversation with some others to be "stressful".

More on this as this paper progresses. Check back for links and further writing.
