Usenet News Groups
Usenet News Groups are the sophisticated grafitti of the Internet. They
were one of the earliest incarnations of the Internet, originating on a
network of Bulletin Board Systems that circulated around the world. There
are over 10,000 subjects represented. The best way to learn about them
is to visit some of the Web pages that give an idea about how to "explore"
them. The best way to use them is to have a "News Reader", which is a piece
of Communications software that uses your internet connection to attach
to a "news server" which contains notes from the news groups that are selected
to be carried by your Internet provider. It works from there much like
an email program. This
Web site is a good start
