about the notes from Larry

He is certainly expressing his concern and willingness to make contacts and send my resume to people.  He was apologetic about not being able to make a "job offer",  which I really didn't expect of him;  the networking thing is my most important tool right now.  I have made several contacts without even getting dressed in the last 3 days  (I DID get dressed during that time,  but I have done the bulk of my correspondence in the early morning hours as I drank some coffee and read Weblogs,  sent reumes,  and made phone calls.   My Dad is The Director of Habitat for Humanity in Williamson County, TN,  and so he has contact with a lot of Church-related Professionals and has forwarded a resume or two to his acquaintances.

I contacted a few people I have met via Blogging ,  and I have more still that I want to ask to keep an ear to the ground.  Comment here if you have any suggestions for me,  or email me.

Yes,  I think Old St. George would be the ideal kind of environment,  but the major dollars for such R&D in online technology is not at a level that it's there for buildings and traditional business plans.  To me ,  this context of online "places" and evolving community-building software frameworks is a very powerful ally for ecumenical growth,  and connecting geographically dispersed would-be partners in all kinds of online ministry efforts.  It also has very ripe possibilities for further connecting those who seek each other out consistently in their day-to-day lives;  the ones who "hang out" together frequently,  or would like to do so more frequently.  The mobile "Smart Mobs" technologies as described by Rheingold seem to me to be tools for future expansion of the reach of Christian communities looking to make a difference in their spritual, social,  and political contexts.
