Just re-installed after a copmplete backup and re-installed Kit to a different directory,  and it seems to work!

I wish I could find another alternative News Aggregator.  The one in Radio is always bringing back posts I've already "checked off".  It also requires way too much "checking of boxes".  It needs to reverse the process and let me select stories to Keep (or at least give that option),  for I discard the vast majority of news items collected by my aggregator.

I had been using the Kit Dashboard News Aggregator for 2 or 3 months,  and I liked it.  When I had to leave the job,  I didn't get the right files from my Radio installation there,  and as a result, my "Kit" no longer works,  even though I have re-installed it.  If anybpody has experienced this before,  I'd love to get it back up and running.

When I run the link that used to run the Kit News Aggregator (http://127.0.0.1:5335/kit/news) ,  I get this:

News Aggregator

When one goes through computer problems such as what I had over the past 24 hours (fixed now,  I THINK),  it seems to have a dampening, discouraging effect on EVERYTHING,  like how I feel about my job hunting prospects.  Silly,  but wat happnens is that various doubts about abilities and self-confidence suffers.   I feel better now,  naturally, now that the problem seems to be over,  and things back to normal.

What lingers now is doubts about client applications for weblogging.  I'll continue to use Radio,  but it seems more urgent now that I learn at least one Weblog hosting server setup,  like Movable Type.  I want to be able to find something I can use with my webhosting which has IIS5, ASP, and MS Access support,  but it seems MT is mySQL or some other open source database,  which I don't have in my hosting package.

I want to be able to work as a Server-side admin which hosts outside bloggers,  and set up features that allow them to login,  do admin on their own blogs,  and easily link to and subscribe to others on the system, and give them tools to find related bloggers outside the system.

Turn on the "back up feature" in your local pages at

http://127.0.0.1:5335/system/pages/prefs?page=6.5

in order to keep backups of all renedered files.  This is where I found a copy of the last good home page generated for my blog,  and uploaded it with my ftp program.   Then later,  Radio began working normally again after I did some things

i just wanna refresh my home page!   It's sick and broken,  and I'm unhappy about it......

OK!  After re-setting my ftp password (actually, creating a new one and using it in my ftp prefs),  and turning on auto upstreaming, Radio went through the entire site and uploaded everything anew...until I noticed that the graphics weren't loading on the pages that had been uploaded,  so I looked at the path and noticed they were looking in the root of the web directory....which made me realize I needed to tack on /dlature to the URL in my FTP prefs,  since that is what the system uses to create links.  After doing this,  Radio started over,  but I checked the first few files it uploaded and all was well.  About an hour or more later,  it was done, and here I am.  Whew!
