Twentieth Wedding Anniversary

20 years ago today, also the year I began my first fulltime Youth Ministry job,  Janet and I got married in Cincinnati and she came to live with me in Keokuk, Iowa.  That was the beginning of what was to be a short-lived Youth Ministry career,  since it seems that I was destined to be involved in electronic communications as ministry,  and eventually,  after I completed the MA in Religious Communications at United,  that was to place me squarely in the Web development profession.

Look over in My Web Development section to read about what I'm trying to accomplish on the job front. I post it over there so the "20th Anniversary" headline stays at the top of this page,  and Check People Around Me for more on Janet and Me and being married for 20 years.

I feel quite overwhelmed with the task of describing these 20 years of marriage,  since right now,  I am faced with a major crossroads (jobless) ,  waiting and looking for the next step in my/our journey.  At the moment,  although I know that I can't imagine my life without Janet,  and what we've had together for 20 years,  with two great kids, Brian (14) and Kelli (5),  my angle on all this is that I have made this a difficult time for Janet in particular.  She's nothing but supportive and cares about the anguish and uncertainty that I feel,  which is the norm for her (to be caring and supportive and positive).  I find it very disturbing that I have caused this major period of uncertainty that keeps her from really being able to see things as postively and affirmingly as she naturally does,  and consistently does.  She's doing especially well with it today (and it's probably all for ME,  which gives me cause for celebration that I have her and have had these 20 years) . We are planning to take the kids over to my Mom and Dad's while we go see a matinee showing of Bruce Almighty and eat out afterwards.
